December 7th 2006-- My 25th Birthday

Today is my birthday.

I’m a quarter of a century years old!!

Twenty-four has come and gone.

What happened while I was 24??

- I spent my 24th birthday in Houston, where I was living after Hurricane Katrina.  My sister Hiep, her husband Ben and her kids (Skye, Julian, Richard, & Brook) called me and sang me Happy Birthday over the phone.  It was one of the best gifts ever.  I was so over whelmed, I cried.  I will never forget that moment.

- My friend Jeremy took me out for a Birthday lunch.  He also bought me a gift.  I barely knew Jeremy.  I met him through Ben.  It was very sweet of him to do something for me.  He knew I was away from my family and Ben, and was very lonely.  Jeremy, taking me out for lunch for my birthday was a very simple act of generosity, but it meant the world to me.  Thank you.  Oh, and I love the CD, very easy listening.

- I was living in Houston with my sister, her fiancé, and his cousin after Hurricane Katrina.  I moved back to Home Sweet Home New Orleans late December 2005.  Home is where the heart is.  It feels ridiculously good to be home.

- I finally got to start my job at Stardust Salon on December 23, 2005.  I originally was supposed to start September 1st, 2005.  I was almost 4 months late!!  My boss told me I am the only person he’s hired that started late and still kept around.  I absolutely love my job.  I love my clientele.  I love my co-workers.  I love the salon itself.

- In August, I went to San Francisco, California with Daniel, Lyna, Maraget, James, & Ben.  This was our 1st trip together, and everybody’s 1st time to San Francisco.  It was an amazing trip.  We stayed with Kim, who was the best host and tour guide ever.  Thanks Kim!  I hope we all can visit San Francisco again.  I love that place.

- I lost some one who was very dear to me.  Ben & I decided to part ways after 3 ½ years of dating.  I lost a boyfriend and I lost a friend….a best friend.  No other comments.  No questions please.

- My sister Lien and Vu finally got married!  It was an awesome wedding.  My cousins came down.  I’ve seen friends I haven’t seen in a long time.  It was memorable and tons of fun.  Congratulations Lien and Vu!

(October 27th & 28th 2006)

- My little sister and I were involved in a very dangerous car accident with an 18-wheeler.  It was one of the scariest moments in my life, if not the scariest.  Thank you Daniel, Lyna, Maraget, & James for your help and comfort. (November 22, 2006)

- This is my last semester at Delgado.  WahooOOoo!!  I’ll finally go to UNO.  Delgado sucks!!

- I’ve learned as I get older to embrace it, don’t be afraid of it.

-  Thinking back on all of my past experiences, I realized I have learned a lot from them.  Nowadays, I find myself reflecting back to those experiences.  I can still recall how I felt during those moments.  I’m proud to say that I’ve learned from my past experiences.

-          This actually took place a week before my 24th Birthday, but I had to include him.  Vu gave Lien a puppy wuppy for her Birthday, which is a week before mines.  His name is Big Boy Kolache Burger Le.  I started calling him Burger, and it just stuck!  He’s a handsome white Labrador Retriever, whom is very smart and charming.  He’s tons of fun to play with and all he ever wants to do is to play!  His favorite game is tug.  He’s my sweet heart and I love him very much.

-          I finally spoiled myself and actually bought a new phone.  It’s not one of those free rink-a-dink phones I’ve always had.  It actually has a camera and all those really cool features.  I love it!!

-  I bought myself a Birthday gift yesterday!  I'm so excited.  I've always wanted a camera, but I always held out on buying one.  I'm so excited!!  It's a really cool one with a huge 'O' screen and it takes awesome photos.  Happy Birthday to me!

That was me at 24 in a nutshell.

I’m 25 now.  Let’s see how 25 will turn out.

I’m excited about my insurance; I hope the accident doesn’t make it go up instead of down.

For the year to come. . . .

-          Twenty-five is going to be the Year of TRYING NEW THINGS.  I want to experience things I haven’t before.  I want to explore what I do not know.  I want to broaden my horizons.

-          A few of my girlfriends and I are planning to spend New Years in New York.  I love New York.  I hope we’ll get to skate at Rockefeller Center and see the infamous Christmas tree.  I’m so excited to see my girls, Sarah and Aanchal.  It’s going to be great to hang out with you again Maraget.

-          I plan to visit a really good friend in Hawaii during Spring Break.  I hope I make it Vi!!  If plans follow through, I’ll make a pit stop in Los Angeles to visit my favoritest cousins from California!!

-  I’ll be in school for another 2 years, give or take.  For every break from school we get, I plan to travel/ vacation.  I might as well before I enter the “real world”.  Any body want to go??

-  I want to take lessons for ball room dancing, belly dancing, and self defense.

-  I’m on a mission to weigh 115 pounds by May of 2007.  It’s going to be hard.  If I can accomplish this, I’ll treat myself to a photo shoot with Diana.  It’s so fun and girly to get made up and take pictures.  =)

-          I want to live 25 for me. . . . for myself. . . . not anyone else.  I’m going to cater to myself.   I’m going to spoil myself.  I’m going to do what I want to do.  I’m going to do things I’ve always wanted to do, but never got around to.  I’m going to discover who I am.  It’s going to be all about ME!!

The End.

My 24th Birthday

*** Edit, at the bottom of my list ***

Today's my birthday.

 I'm 24 years old.

My 23rd year of life is over.

It was a big year, lots happened.

- Hiep and Ben Adams PIMPED MY RIDE for my 23rd Birthday.  They "borrowed" my car while I was at work and installed a MP3 CD player in my car!  All I had before was a radio, not even a casette player.

- Christmas was unforgettable.  We had a white Christmas in freakin' New Orleans.  My family and I spent the entire day playing in the snow.  It's a day I will never forget.

- Ben and I took our 2nd trip to Austin and Dallas in January, I LOVE AUSTIN!

- For Spring Break, Ben and I went to New York City for our 1st time.  We were there for 7 days, maybe 8.  I finally got to ride on the subway!  I've always wanted to do that.  It was just like the movies.  We did everything a typical tourist in New York would.

- Went to Panama City at the beginning of the summer.  Ben, Margaret, Aanchal, Tom, Hae Chon, Mike, Kyung, Kyung's girl - friend, and I met up with Lien, Vu, Tan, Hai, and Serena.  That trip was a blast!

- I met a very special person named Sarah.  She moved to New Orleans from Michigan and we started working together at Regis.  She's helped and taught me so much about the hair industry, as well about life.  She got a great opportunity to do what she loves, she teaching little kids English in South Korea!

- One of my goals was to work at Regis for a year-- to gain experience and knowledge.  I also learned to wax eyebrows.  I worked at Regis for roughly a year and 4 months.

- I applied at 2 salons that always wanted to work at, Startdust on Magazine Street (New Orleans) and Toni & Guy in Bay Brooke Mall (Houston). . . . . they both called me back for the 2nd interview. . . . which involves bringing in a model and working my magic on them.  I GOT BOTH JOBS!

- Grew my hair out to my "desired length".  =)      It's the longest I've ever had it.  Its just past my bra strap, now I want it even longer.

*** Edit ***

- August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina made landfall in New Orleans.  This was one of the most tragic events in my life.  Atleast this time, I was with my family.

That's all I can think of right now.

  23 was a good year.

  I'm looking forward to 24.
